His eyes are going to be the death of me.
Have you ever had that intense eye contact? The one where neither of you can look away because you feel connected? That's exactly how I felt, and I didn't want it any other way.
The room was still, and it was just him and I.

Faisal ruined our moment.
Faisal: "Lama keefk elyoom?"
Me: "Much better el7amdella."
We ate and nothing interesting happened after that.
I came late to writing class and the only seat available was next to Saud, which to be completely honest, I didn't mind at all.
Mr. Coleman: "I have an assignment for you today. I want you write about something that made you think differently about a certain thing. For instance, you saw a movie about global warming, and it made you care about how much water you waste in the shower. "
He handed out the papers, and I quickly started writing. I knew exactly what made me think about things differently.
I was writing for like 20 minutes until Saud's voice broke my train of thoughts.

Saud: "Why did you write about?"
Me: "Blessings."
Saud: “Keef y3ni?”
Me: “Why we’re so blessed. Like why us?”
Saud: "Okay... Bs shd5la bl assigment?"
Me: “Y3ni awl I never thought about blessings, bs shft ela5bar o shft keef ela7wal b sooria."
Saud: "Yea?"
Me: "It made me think ena that could've been me, bs instead I’m here having fun. So now, whenever something happens that pisses me off, o agol f*ck my life, I think of those people, and my problems aren't so big anymore, you know?”
Saud was quite.
Saud’s P.O.V.
I was in awe. How are these thoughts and words coming out of a 17 year old?
His silence worried me.
Me: "T7s mara7 y3jba? A'3yra?"
He finally said: “LA LA!!! That's a great choice.”
Me: “Thanks! Y3ne I mean titfh your problems when you realize that there are much bigger ones in the world.”
Saud: “Ee 97 klamk."
He smiled then he followed it with: " Y5tiii mu gadr a9dg ink 17.”
Me: “Leh?”
Saud: “I don’t know. Girls I’ve met who were even older than you are don’t think like you do.”
Girls he met. Ugh, That really bugged me and I have no idea know why.

Is it weird that I'm jealous?
Me: "What about you? What did you choose?"
Saud: "Mst7eeel agooolk. I can't follow up what you just said."
I smiled and pulled his paper: "It isn't a competition."
He wrote about how he saw a movie about slavery and it made him appreciate how far this world has come.
Me: "This is good bl3ks."
Saud: "Wla shy jmbk akeed ya writer."
I gave him a stare: "I'm not! I just enjoy writing."
He smiled and took his paper back.
I wrote the finishing touches and handed my paper to Mr. Coleman.
Mr. Coleman: "I have high expectations for your paper."
I smiled: "Well, I hope I don't disappoint."
When I got back to my seat, the class was over and everyone was leaving.
Saud: "Nshoofk tonight?"
Me: "Tonight?"
Saud: "Ee tonight we're heading downtown."
Me: "Oh lsa ma shft jwalii. Enshallah I guess."
He smiled and left.
HIS SMILE >

I would like to thank my dear friend A. She's the only who made me realize that our drama and problems are nothing compared to what's out there and that really made me appreciate all the blessings in my life. I hope it makes you appreciate yours!
